SUMMARY

The Boje people are an ethno-linguistic community mainly residing in Boki Local Government Area in Cross River state, Southeastern Nigeria. The community has been involved in non-state conflicts with other ethnic communities in Nigeria.

The Boje speak a dialect of the Boki (or Bokyi) language, and mainly rely on cash crops such as bananas, yams and cocoa for subsistence. In conflicts with other ethnic groups the Boje appear to not deploy a formally organised militia, but instead rely on more loosely organised groupings to carry out violence against their opponents.

The Boje people have been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
