SUMMARY

Khozam is one of several nomadic pastoralist tribes known as the Batha Arabes. Originating from the Batha region of central Chad, the group was forced to leave the area after a series of droughts and the effects of the civil war in the mid-80s. Today located in the Kanem region of western Chad, the group makes its living as livestock herders.
