SUMMARY

Los Colombianos was a Mexican drug cartel that had its main operations in several municipalities in Morelos state, such as Cuernavaca, Emiliano Zapata, Jiutepec, Puente de Ixtla, Cuautla, Amacuzac, and Cocoyoc.

The group emerged in 2019, when Los Colombianos formed an alliance with Jalisco Cartel New Generation. This happened after the arrest of Morelos-based cartel Los Rojos' leader Santiago Mazari Miranda ”El Carrete”, in what appeared to be a change of power dynamics in the state.

Members of Los Colombianos were mainly Colombian and Venezuelan citizens residing in Morelos state. The most notable leader of this criminal organization was Francisco Javier Rodríguez Hernández, also known by aliases "El Señorón", "Frank" and "XL", who was captured by the Mexican navy in April 2022. Rodríguez Hernández forged a network of clandestine laboratories to produce synthetic drugs and distribution centers in Morelos.

The criminal organization was considered one of the main synthetic drug exporters to the United States.

Los Colombianos has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
