SUMMARY
The Sinaloa Cartel – Los Memos faction is a group under the Sinaloa Cartel umbrella in Mexico. The faction is led by Adelmo Niebla González or Guillermo Nieblas Nava, also called “El Señor”, and the group is based in Sonoyta town, Sonora state along the US border. Niebla González has been working close to the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, for a long time, some describe him as one of Guzman’s main collaborators and operators. The Sinaloa Cartel – Los Memos faction has been in control of the cartels drug trafficking through Sonyota into Arizona, US, for more than 20 years.
Adelmo Nieblas Nava has spent time in prison several times. After being imprisoned in 2012 he managed to escape through an advanced tunnel in 2014 together with two other inmates. However, he was captured and imprisoned once again in May 2015.
