SUMMARY

The Sinaloa Cartel – Los Salazar faction is a group under the Sinaloa Cartel umbrella in Mexico. The faction was founded by Adán Salazar Zamaorano, one of the main operators of the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. However, after Adán Salazar Zamaorano arrest in 2011 his two sons, Jesús Alfredo and Adán Salazar Ramírez, took over the leadership of the group. The Sinaloa Cartel – Los Salazar faction has its stronghold in Navojoa town, Sonora state, and has produced and transported marijuana through Sonora before trafficking it over the US border.

The Sinaloa Cartel - Los Salazar faction has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
