SUMMARY
The Lashkar of Kukikhel tribe was formed in 2010 in opposition to the presence of Tehrik-i-Taleban Pakistan (TTP) in their homeland, the Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency in the north-western parts of Pakistan. Since NATO transports supplies through the valley, it was an area of interest for the TTP to claim. On August 16 2011, eleven TTP militants were killed by the Lashkar and a few days later TTP retaliated by carrying out a suicide bombing during Ramadan, targeting a mosque killing 56 people.
The non-state conflict between the Lashkar of Kukikhel tribe and TTP is first included in UCDP data in 2011. In August of that year, fighting between the two groups had resulted in over 25 battle-related deaths.
