SUMMARY
The conflict between the King Valley Gang and the Ants Posse Gang was a prolonged territorial feud concentrated in Jamaica, driven primarily by competition over criminal revenues and control of local territory.
The King Valley Gang and the Ants Posse Gang were both based in Grange Hill, Westmoreland parish, in western Jamaica. This community was known for being a hub for gunrunning, extortion, lottery scamming, and contract killings. The King Valley Gang had long dominated the area, and although the Ants Posse Gang was a more recent formation, it rapidly emerged as a serious rival to the King Valley Gang.
Neither gang issued formal public statements justifying violence against the other. However, police and security officials attributed the conflict primarily to competition over turf and the proceeds of criminal activities. The violence had significant consequences for civilian life in the area, including threats against students and the temporary closure of local schools.
The non-state conflict between the Ants Posse Gang and the Kings Valley Gang is first included in UCDP data in 2024. Throughout that year, their violent clashes in Westmoreland parish resulted in over 25 deaths.
