SUMMARY
Two official banned armed groups; the pro-government Ansaar ul-Islam clashed with Tehrik-i-Taleban Pakistan for the supremacy of Tirah region of Khyber, in Pakistan. Lashkar-e-Islam militants also reinforced TTP during the skirmishes. While some praise that Ansaar ul-Islam's fierce resistance against TTP, others claim it wants to dominate the Afridi tribe, the largest one in Khyber Agency in order to take over the lucrative trade business. The fighting was confined to Tirah Valley. Both parties suffered a high number of fatalities, and the total number of battle-related deaths was over 200.
