SUMMARY
El Dorado is a town in Venezuela’s Bolívar State, situated about 700 kilometers southeast of the capital Caracas. A maximum-security prison called Centro Penitenciario de Oriente, also known as El Dorado prison, is located in the town. El Dorado long-term inmates refers to a group of long-term prisoners at El Dorado prison that in 1997 clashed with another group of inmates that had recently been transferred to the facilities from Sabaneta prison in western Venezuela.
