SUMMARY
The Sinaloa Cartel – Los Salgueiro faction was a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. Members of the group were the men loyal to its founder, Noel Salgueiro “El Flaco”, a high-ranking member within the cartel. “El Flaco” was also known to be the founder of Gente Nueva, one of the most prominent factions of the Sinaloa cartel.
Los Salgueiro faction was based in the state of Chihuahua in the north of Mexico, particularly in the Cuauhtémoc and Ciudad Juárez municipalities. Although the group operated as part of the Sinaloa cartel, in 2014, an internal struggle between two factions of the organization took place, where Los Salguiero fought Los Chavez Matamoros for control over drug trafficking in several municipalities in southern Chihuahua.
The Sinaloa Cartel - Los Salgueiro faction has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
