SUMMARY

JRTN (Army of the Men of the Naqshbandi Order, also called Naqshbandi Organization) consists largely of former army officers and Baath party loyalists who seeks to overthrow the Iraqi government. Few details surrounding the group’s formation are available, but some reports claim that the group was formed following the ousting of the Saddam Hussein regime in 2003. The group has its main stronghold in Nineveh province in northern Iraq. JRTN has been loosely allied with IS (Islamic State).
