SUMMARY
Alago (also Arago, Alagoas and Idoma Nokwu) is an ethnic group residing in Nasarawa state in central Nigeria. More precisely, the Alago are concentrated to Lafia and Awe Local Government Areas in the eastern part of the state, bordering Plateau. Most Alagos are subsistence farmers, raising guinea corn, maize and millet.
All land among the Alago is owned communally, as is most things grown on it. The land is subsequently administrated by the Alago chief, on behalf of the people. The chief is also responsible for solving land-related disputes.
The Alago ethnic group has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
