SUMMARY
The Muslims in Egypt are a loosely put together congregation of people that adhere to the Islamic faith. The group is perhaps mostly defined in relation to an adversary, or an out group. The overarching description Muslims does not include all Muslims in Egypt; rather it is a product of the reporting from the conflicts that include religion as markers of belonging. The group is, because of their ad hoc nature, not lead by one single person; rather, they assemble when threatened by an outside actor.
Roughly 90% of the Egyptian population is Muslim.
The Muslims (Egypt) have been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
