SUMMARY

The Mundari is an ethnic group that occupies the northern part of Central Equatoria Province in South Sudan. The Mundaris are cattle owners as well as cultivators and the crops they cultivate include both consumer gods and cash crops. The Mundari has their ethnic origin in Kenya. The Mundari is one of seven Bari-speaking groups in Central Equatoria. In the north the Mundari country borders the Bor district in Upper Nile, to the north-west the Yirol area of Lakes Province, to the south Juba district, to the southwest, Rokon district in Eastern Equatoria Province, to the west the Mundari district in Western Equatoria and finally to the East the Torit district.

The Mundari group has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
