SUMMARY

The Atout Dinka and Ciek Dinka clans of the Dinka have traditionally been involved in small-scale conflicts. Traditionally these conflicts are due to cattle raiding but these conflicts rarely turn into large-scale violence. However, in 2010 this happened and dozens of people were killed. The Atout Dinka - Ciek Dinkafighting was part of the widespread violence between different ethnic groups in South Sudan that took place in 2009 and 2010.

The non-state conflict between Atout Dinka and Ciek Dinka is first included in UCDP data in 2010. In April that year, fighting in Yirol East district resulted in at least 25 battle-related deaths.

No recorded fatalities for this entity.
