SUMMARY
The Misseriya and Rizeigat Abbala are two ethnic groups with an Arab identity. Both of the groups are nomads and the Rizeigat Abbala are camel herders whilst the Misseriyais herding both camels and cattle. These two groups usually co-exist well but occasionally tension between them rises when disputes over water or land occur.
The non-state conflict between Misseriya and Rizeigat Abbala is first included in UCDP data in 2008. In August that year clashes between the two groups resulted in at least 25 battle-related deaths.
