SUMMARY
The Didinga and the Toposa are two groups that traditionally have had many disputes. Cattle raids and conflicts over land have plagued the two communities for a long time. However, the years following the signing of the CPA (the Comprehensive Peace Agreement) between the government of Sudan and the SPLM/A in 2005 have been fairly peaceful and the 2007 clash between the two groups was the most violent in a long time.
The non-state conflict between the Didinga and the Toposa is first included in UCDP data in 2007. In May that year, clashes between the two groups had resulted in at least 25 battle-related deaths.
