SUMMARY
Throughout history cattle raids by the Murle on its neighbors, foremost the Dinka and Nuer, have been common. A majority of these attacks have been between Murle and Bor Dinka, due to the proximity of these groups. These raids usually lead to substantial amounts of cattle being stolen and occasional clashes between the two groups. Conflict between Bor Dinka and Murle has thus been centered upon issues of resources in the form of valuable cattle.
The non-state conflict between Bor Dinka and Murle was first included in UCDP data in 2007. In July that year, clashes resulted in at least 25 battle-related deaths.
