SUMMARY
Clashes erupted in early April 2016 between members of the Bani Hilal tribe and members of the Nubian Dabudiya family in Egypt. Longstanding tensions between the two tribes escalated to violent clashes after a woman was harassed and members of both sides sprayed offensive graffiti. The clashes ceased after reconciliation efforts led by the Aswan peace committee.
The non-state conflict between Bani Hilal and[Nubian Dabudiya] is first included in UCDP data in 2014. In early April of that year, clashes between the two groups resulted in more than 25 battle-related deaths.
