SUMMARY
The Amothnhon Dinka and the Panyon Dinka are two subgroups of the Agar Dinka in South Sudan. Although the groups usually have peaceful relations they sometimes fight each other over the control of land. This fighting is regularly solved at a low level of violence. In 2013, however, the two groups fought each other more fiercely than in previous years.
The non-state conflict between the Amothnhon Dinka and the Panyon Dinka was first included in UCDP data in 2013. In January of that year, clashes between the two groups had resulted in more than 25 battle-related deaths.
