SUMMARY
The Logone conflict in the Central African Republic (CAR) pertained to the self-proclaimed autonomous region called the Republic of Logone or Dar al-Kuti. On August 17, 2014, the Popular Front for the Rebirth of Central African Republic (FPRC) made a press release declaring the establishment of an independent state, but the leadership later denied making such a statement. On December 14, 2015, FPRC officially declared the establishment of the Republic of Logone. Back then, MPC allied with FPRC, thus sharing the same incompatibility.
In November 2023, the leader of MPC announced that they were no longer a part of the CPC alliance and aimed to reintegrate the 2019 peace agreement. However, in early December, MPC forces clashed with Wagner forces who were assisting the CAR government, thus making the Central African Republic: Logone conflict active in 2023. In late December, some high-ranking members of the MPC announced that they refused to accept the statement made by the MPC leader regarding reintegrating the MPC into the 2019 agreement. In December 2020, FPRC joined the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) and shifted its focus toward the latter's struggle for control of the CAR government. CAR forces recaptured Kaga-Bandoro on April 10, 2021, which was noteworthy as it was the town where FPRC had previously declared the formation of the Republic of Logone.
