SUMMARY
The Forces of Sayed Mansur Naderi and Hizb-i Islami-yi Afghanistan were engaged in clashes during September and October 1995 in Sari Pul and Baghlan province. One particular ambush resulted in the killing of Mamoor Ghayyur, a commander of Hizb-i Islami-yi Afghanistan and former governor of Northern Baghlan Province; local press coverage speculated that this had been an assassination operation ordered by General Jaffar Naderi of the Forces of Sayed Mansur Naderi.
The non-state conflict between Forces of Sayed Mansur Naderi and Hizb-i Islami-yi Afghanistan is first included in UCDP data in 1995. In October of that year, clashes between the two groups had resulted in more than 25 battle-related deaths.
