Comment on date when dyad reached 25 battle related deaths: The non-state conflict between the Republic of Croatia and Serbian Republic of Krajina is first included in UCDP data in 1992. In the beginning of April that year, clashes had resulted in over 25 battle-related deaths. On 27 April, 1992, Croatia was recognized as an independent state. Consequently, the fighting that occurred between the Government of Croatia and the Serbian Republic of Krajina after that date is registered as a state-based conflict in UCDP data.
