2001 Dyad Archive
Comment on Active: In mid-March 2001, the Karimojong launched a surprise attack on an Iteso village located in the Katawaki District. As a result, several Iteso tribe-members lost their lives and several homesteads were destroyed. Heavy fighting continued as Iteso warriors managed to catch up with the raiders while they were returning to the Moroto and the Kotido Districts. The conflict, which only lasted for a day, resulted in 32 battle related deaths.
