Comment on Yearly Battle Related Deaths: In the beginning of July 2003, the Saad sub-clan of Habar Gidir and the Saleban-Abdalla subclan clashed in the village of Afbarwaqo in the Mudug region of central Somalia. The cause of the conflict is believed to have been control over the region’s salt production. The conflict is estimated to have caused the death of 28 people.
