Comment on Active: One of these types of violence was Luo and Kikuyu fighting each other. Luo predominantly supported Odinga whilst Kibaki was supported by most Kikuyu. The Luo-Kikuyu was the most geographically outspread of the non-state conflict taking place in Kenya in 2008. Much of the fighting took place in the Nairobi slum suburbs. Luo was chased away from Kikuyu dominated areas and Kikuyu was chased away from areas dominated by the Luo. Clashes between the groups in Nairobi were one part of the conflict taking place in 2008. Another was taking place in Rift Valley when Kikuyu and Lou militias clashed with each other. Early on in the conflict more Kikuyu were killed and this made Kikuyu gangs carrying out revenge attacks. The fighting took mostly place in January but at a lower level in February before it ceased when the power-sharing agreement was signed.
