Comment on conflict reached 25 battle releated deaths: The non-state conflict between Alawites (Lebanon and Sunnis (Lebanon) in Lebanon is first included in UCDP data in 2012. The conflict became active sometime between the second and fourth of June, when continuous clashes in Tripoli killed at least 14 people, pushing the toll above 25 battle-related deaths.

2012 Conflict Archive
Comment on Activity: Fighting in 2012 began in February, when at least 3 people were killed in clashes between pro- and anti-Syrian sympathizers. The conflict crossed the 25 battle-deaths threshold in early June when the two communities clashed again.
Clashes had, however, occurred already in 2011.
The fighting took place in the northern Lebanese town of Tripoli.

Comment on Activity: Fighting between the Alawite and Sunni communities in Tripoli continued in 2013, although the first few months were calm. Hostilities escalated once more in late March, when several days of clashes took place. Several other bouts of days of consecutive fighting took place also in May, June, October and November.
