Comment on Activity: Even though both USC/SNA and SSDF were part of a ceasefire agreement that had been signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in January it was only a few days until reports of ceasefire violations surfaced. The exact turn of events were not clear, but on the day of the attack SSDF spokesman Mohamed Abshir announced that as many as 200 people had been killed in clashes between the groups. Furthermore, 12 gun-mounted vehicles, so called ‘technicals’, were captured by SSDF.
