Comment on conflict reached 25 battle releated deaths: The non-state conflict between the Ndoki and Ogoni groups is first included in UCDP data in 1994. In April of that year Ogoni youths attacked the neighboring village of Ndoki which resulted in around 30 battle-related deaths.

Comment on Activity: The violence in this conflict was not widely reported. According to the available information clashes between the two ethnic groups lasted for one month in 1994. The background to the fighting is believed to be related to the booming oil trade of the Nigerian delta area. Conflicting views and interests in connection to the oil trade and the revenues it creates have acted as catalysts for conflict in southern Nigeria for the last couple of decades.
