Comment on Activity: The conflict was fought during the first three months of the year. The root cause of the disagreement was control over land, with the agriculturalist Wurukum coming into conflict regarding land use with the pastoralist Fulani. The conflicting interests spawned tensions that soon got out of hand and inter-ethnic violence erupted.
Comment on Yearly Battle Related Deaths: The reporting was scarce; hence the death toll is approximated to be at least one hundred, based on news media covering the violence.
