Comment on Name: KM (Kikosi Maalum: Special Force)
Troop Size: 950
Comment on Troop Size: After KM’s failed 1972 invasion of Uganda, its fighters had been demobilized and many were making a living as farmers and charcoal sellers around Tabora in Tanzania. With a new invasion looming on the horizon, some 950 of them were remobilized into KM. Subsequently, Tanzania provided them with weapons and a three-week crash course in how to use them. KM was once again commanded by Col. Tito Okello and Capt. David Oyyite-Ojok.
