Government of Guinea - RFDG
Conflict Goal Issues: Rassemblement des Forces démocratiques de Guinée, Rally of Democratic Forces of Guinea, (RFDG), also known as UFGN and UFDG, was a revolutionary Guinean rebel group aiming to overthrow the Guinean government. Despite being continuously denied by RFDG, the group appeared to have received military backing from the Liberian government led by Charles Taylor and was seemingly largely made up of fighters from Sierra Leone and Liberia, but also dissidents from the Guinean army, which is why its only interpreted characteristic is previous fighters from government armies. During its brief existence, RFDG stated two conflict goal issues, calling for the ousting of the Guinean government in 2000, and for the resignation of President Lansana Conté, specifically, in 2001.
