SUMMARY
La Coalition (Coalition Révolutionnaire pour Sauver l'Artibonite, Revolutionary Coalition to Save the Artibonite) was an armed self-defense group that emerged in the Jean-Denis area of the Artibonite region, Haiti. The group was formed in response to the violence perpetrated by the Gran Grif and Kokorat San Ras gangs across the Artibonite region. However, the group increasingly engaged in practices indistinguishable from those of the criminal actors it claimed to oppose, including extortion and the direct targeting of civilians deemed to be supporting rival gangs.
La Coalition has been involved in the one-sided category of UCDP organized violence.
