SUMMARY
I don't care was a youth gang based in Angoram district, East Sepik province, Papua New Guinea, consisting of approximately 30 members led by Bapein Mangor or Jerome Malakai. In August 2024, most of its members were arrested following a series of violent attacks.
In July 2024, the gang made headlines when it executed at least 26 civilians across four different villages in Angoram district. The violence was reportedly connected to long-standing land disputes. Armed with guns, knives, and axes, gang members raped women and girls before killing them, burned down houses, and left many bodies to rot or to be eaten by crocodiles in the river.
I don't care has been active in the one-sided category of UCDP organized violence.
