SUMMARY
The Kraze Baryè gang (also known as Vitelhomme gang or Torcelle gang) operated in the West Department of Haiti, namely in Port-au-Prince, Petión-Ville, Delmas, Torcelle and Tabarre. The gang actively participated in kidnappings for ransom, extortion and car thefts.
The gang’s leader, Vitel’Homme Innocent, partnered regularly with other gangs -especially 400 Mawozo- to carry out acts of violence against civilians in the territories they controlled.
On February 29, 2024, G9 joined its longtime rival G-Pep, in an alliance called Viv Ansanm (Living Together, Vivre Ensemble) and began engaging in armed conflict against the Haitian government. The Kraze Baryè gang also went on to form part of this new alliance.
The gang Kraze Baryè has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
