SUMMARY

Ajeita, also known as Tropa do Ajeita, was a gang active in Bahia, in the northeast of Brazil. It was created as a splinter group from the Bonde do Maluco (BDM) in the mid-2010s inside a prison unit at Serrinha, a city in the interior of the state. The group’s founder, Whashington David da Silva (Boca Mole), incarcerated since 2013, forged alliances with several fellow inmates, who later assumed significant roles within the organization.

Their main areas of operation were greater Salvador, including neighborhoods and cities with the presence of other gangs. Their focus was on the illicit drug trafficking in the region, which lead them to battle Comando Vermelho, Comando da Paz and Katiara for territorial control.

Ajeita was allied with PCC. Their relationship with BDM remained complex. Given that Ajeita was born out of former BDM members, they frequently had episodes of rivalry.

Ajeita has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.

No recorded fatalities for this entity.
