SUMMARY

Cartel do Norte (Northern Cartel) was a drug trafficking gang operating in the Amazonas state of Brazil. The group was a merger between former members of the FDN and the PCC Amazonas state.

The group's main areas of operation were the state capital, Manaus, and neighboring town of Iranduba.

Cartel do Norte's leader was Luciano da Silva Barbosa, “L7” or “Luciano da Compensa”, son of José Fernandes Barbosa “Zé Roberto”, one of the founders of the extinct FDN. In September 2021, Luciano was arrested by the police.

Cartel do Norte has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
