SUMMARY

Anti-Bala (Anti-Bullet), also known as V7, was a coalition of drug trafficking gang operating in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state, in southern Brazil. The group emerged in 2012 as a counterforce to the expansion of the Bala na Cara gang.

The Bala na Cara gang that had emerged in Porto Alegre during the early 2000s, was known for its violent methods and would invade local drug sales points to either eliminate or order small traffickers to work for them. Local gangs united under the Anti-Bala coalition to stop Bala na Cara's expansion, and adopted the same violent methods as their rival.

The Anti-Bala gang was formed in the Vila Cruzeiro neighborhood of Porto Alegre under the leadership of "Nego André" who led the group's operations from prison. Although the gang operated primarily in the metropolitan region of the state capital, in 2021 it was reported that one of its leaders Leonardo Silva dos Santos operated from Pedro Juan Caballero town in Paraguay, before he was arrested in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil.

Anti-Bala has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.
