SUMMARY

There are more than 200 different ethic groups living in Chad at the moment. One of these groups is Darsalim who mainly live in eastern Chad. Darsalim is not among the larger ethnic groups in Chad. A distinction is often made between "African" and "Arab" groups and Darsalim is an ethnic group with a more Arab identity.

The Darsalim group has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
