SUMMARY
The Amaro (also referred to as Kore) are sedentary agriculturalists and subsistence farmers inhabiting Amaro Special Woreda (Woreda being the Ethiopian term for district) in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s region (SNNP) in south western Ethiopia. The group numbers around 135 000.
The Amaro have been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organised violence.
