SUMMARY

The Torma ethnic group, who adhered to the Christian faith, lived in the southern area of Guinea (around Macenta in the Nzérékoré region) and in Liberia (mainly in Lofa County). Torma was an ethnicity that constituted less than 10% of the Guinean population, an even smaller minority since only 8% of the Guinean population was Christian. Prior to the violent clashes between the Torma and Torma Manian in 2000, there was no organized violence originating from this group.

The Torma ethnic group has been involved in the non-state category of UCDP organized violence.

No recorded fatalities for this entity.
